Working draft — not yet finalised. This document is written to match how Fettle actually works, but a few company specifics are still to be filled in (shown as [like this]) and it should be reviewed by a UK-qualified solicitor before you rely on it or process real payments at scale — particularly the liability, tax-estimate, cancellation and “not regulated advice” sections.
Short version: your £5 founding deposit is fully refundable, any time, for any reason. No deadline, no small print, no “are you sure?”. Here’s exactly how it works.
The £5 founding deposit
- Fully refundable at any time. Email hello@fettlemoney.co.uk from the address you signed up with and ask for your refund — no reason needed.
- We’ll refund the full £5 to your original payment method via Stripe, normally within 5–10 working days (the time it appears in your account depends on your bank).
- You also have a statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — our any-time policy simply goes further than that.
- If we don’t launch the beta within 18 months, we’ll refund everyone still on the list automatically — you won’t need to ask.
- If you decide to continue as a paying customer after launch, your £5 is credited against your first year instead of refunded — your choice.
Future subscriptions (once the app is live)
- You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of your current paid period.
- For new online purchases you’ll have the same statutory 14-day cooling-off right. If you ask us to start the service within that window and then cancel, we may charge a proportionate amount for what you used.
- We don’t refund partial subscription periods except where the law requires it, or where we’ve got something wrong — if the service failed to work as described, your consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply.
How to request a refund
Email hello@fettlemoney.co.uk with the email address you used to sign up. That’s it — you don’t need your payment reference, though it helps us find you faster if you have it.
Questions or complaints
If a refund hasn’t arrived when you expected, or anything seems wrong, reply to our email or write to hello@fettlemoney.co.uk and we’ll sort it. This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and doesn’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.
